A couple of months ago, I was talking to a family member whose wedding day was before ours when she said "oh it's soon going to be time for me to actually do something about the wedding!" After giving what I can only presume was a confused and panic-stricken face on my part, she confessed that she wasn't the type of bride that liked to get stuck into "the whole wedding planning activities" and now it was coming up to less than 6 months to their big day, she wasn't looking forward to the finer details still left to organise. Now, I know that there are two types of bride; the bride that like the said member of my family, aren't keen on the whole idea of researching, planning, haggling, securing a booking, time lines, schedules, tick lists and all other factors involved, and then there are brides like me. The obsessive organisers, the research fanatics, the Pintrest board lovers whose boards mostly revolve around colours, themes and favour ideas; those of us who have a two year plus back catalogue of Wedding Ideas Magazine. Us that feel a wave of pleasure when we can tick something off our list. (It makes me happy just thinking about striking a line through things).
Hello,
Welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I suppose you could call it the 'Bridget Jones' Diary' (for the wedding industry); I've created it really as a way for me to vent about my upcoming nuptials without boring my nearest and dearest about things that, well, just aren't that important to them but are all I seem to think about now I'm a fully fledged member of the Engagement Club.

Redundancy - On The Lookout
![]() |

I'm having a bit of a tantrum today (what's new?). Some of you who follow me on Twitter may already be aware that I have just recently been made redundant from my 9-5 job. I've gone through the motions of shock, anger, sheer panic and have come out the other end with the notion of acceptance.

Lincolnshire Lovelies - I Need You!
I've just been having a bit of a discussion with a colleague about the area we live in and how when it has come for me to looking for wedding suppliers, I click on their web page or link, and it always ends up being a business in London, Manchester, Birmingham etc and there are never any suppliers (or not ones that I can find) who are based in or around the Lincolnshire area. Considering Lincolnshire is one of the biggest counties in England, I'm looking for Lincolnshire Lovelies to help me not only find suppliers to use for my own wedding, but also so I can give you a bit of publicity and big you up to my friends, family and of course, readers of my blog!
If you are based, or cover the Lincolnshire area (and by cover, I don't mean charge a big fee for you to travel here), I'd like to hear from you. Please get in touch with me via Twitter @xxChloeWxx or click here to send me an email.
Please let all your fellow supplier friends know and ask them too to get in touch, and I'll concoct some amazing exposure on my blog for you!

Congratulations Anna & Christian
I'd like to wish a massive congratulations and lot of luck and happiness to Anna and Christian Willoughby on their wedding day (16th July 2011). I'd also like to thank her for making me part of her special day by asking me to do her bridal makeup. Even though I'm biased, she looked absolutely stunning and I got so caught up in the day that I found myself telling the photographer what shots to take (can you tell that I've been planning my photos and picking out good shots from the million websites I've trawled through?).
Mr and Mrs Willoughby opted for a stylish black and white themed civil wedding at The Brackenborough Arms in Louth, Lincolnshire. I can vouch for the sponge wedding cake filled with jam and buttercream which was lush - I wish I'd sneaked more than one piece out in my handbag (I didn't by the way Anna in case you're reading this - honest!).
The 3 bridesmaids, which included Anna and Christian's daughter Shelby, looked pretty as a picture and mother of the bride also looked fabulous, and quite right too.
They make such a lovely couple and amazing parents to Shelby and newborn Sonny. As you can see from the picture below, they are the epitome of gorgeousness and envy!
I can't wait to see the photographer's shots that I'd suggested. I'll be telling my photographer the exact same thing!

The Cupcakery
Just another quick one to send you in the direction of The Cupcakery. It's a little business based in Holton-le-Clay, Lincolnshire. Their cupcakes are to die for! I especially like the idea of the 99' Flake cupcakes which would be the perfect novelty cakes to keep the little ones happy or for a patriotic English themed wedding.
