Hello,

Welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I suppose you could call it the 'Bridget Jones' Diary' (for the wedding industry); I've created it really as a way for me to vent about my upcoming nuptials without boring my nearest and dearest about things that, well, just aren't that important to them but are all I seem to think about now I'm a fully fledged member of the Engagement Club.

Four Weeks And Counting...

*Throws hand dramatically up towards forehead* Oh, I honestly don't know where the time has gone!  I've been super busy recently with starting my business, family life and attending meetings here there and everywhere, I've literally had no spare time to sit and write.  I can't lie; I have really missed it.  Gone are the days that I could sit and tap away on my netbook blogging to those who read it, but I've managed to get to a point now where I'm able to take a cheeky little 15 minutes or so for myself and update you on our wedding plans.  It is what this blog was started for in the first place after all.

Well, we've not long left now.  Four weeks today to be precise.  Yep, this time in four weeks, I'll be Mrs S.  My dress will be on, vows exchanged, witnessed by all of our friends and family, everyone will have gorged on fantastic foods and right about now I'll be getting my groove on and throwing some questionable shapes on the dance floor.  I'm so excited.  I mean, I have always been excited but this is the highest level of giddiness I've experienced so far.

I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone else but over the last 2 or 3 months, I've gone through a range of emotion.  Sadness at the fact that I'll no longer have the same surname as the rest of my family, annoyance at the realisation of the amount of people I'll have to (formally) inform about my name change, stress, anxiety and general freaking out to the point of developing "stress eczema", nervousness of having all eyes on me when I walk through those church doors, the feeling of being hugely overwhelmed with everything to now being like a small child on Christmas eve; that dizzy, ear to ear grin whenever you think about it kind of feeling.

Everything is now in place.  All suppliers have confirmed their presence and we've only to attend our rehearsal at St Mary's on the Thursday evening before the wedding and we've got a pre-wedding photo shoot with our photographer James Green.

That and for me and Mr S to partake in our hen/stag parties of course!

Mine is next weekend.  My sister has planned everything in secret and all I know of it is that I'm to be ready for collection at 8 am on Saturday morning.  I'll need to tie my hair back and take gloves and clothes that may get dirty.  We're staying over somewhere but not in a hotel.  I'm to take some heels but we're not going for a night out and I definitely don't need to buy a new dress..... I'll have to inform you once I get back!

Mr S' is the weekend after mine and has opted for clay pigeon shooting, archery, go-karting and a curry followed by a "quiet few" drinks in our local town.

I shall endeavour to keep you updated for the next 4 weeks until this particular chapter comes to a close.  So until then....
